I believe our lives as Christians can be compared to one incredible journey—a journey that God Himself, has prepared specifically for each one of us. And, if we want to walk in all that He has for us, the question each of us needs to ask and answer is: Who’s really behind the wheel? Is it Jesus? Is He in control of your life?
Asking Jesus to take the wheel of our lives is so much more than just a catchy phrase; it is the only way to fully enjoy the Christian life. Unless Jesus is truly in the driver’s seat, we will not be able to live the life that God prepared for us. Who controls your life is your choice, and it is a choice that you are making—whether you realize it or not—everyday.
I believe that this book is an excellent discipleship tool, which will help believers cultivate a closer walk with Jesus and an ability to recognize more quickly, when He is not the One who is in control in their lives. The book has been developed as a two-month study and is broken up into short daily readings, which include a follow up application and a few journal questions.
Please comment on this post about your experience with this book. I would love to hear about how reading this book has affected your walk with the Lord.

I am part of the focus group. The thing that I am finding most rewarding is to remember all that the Lord has done for me. Remembering helps increase my confidence in the Lord for circumtances now. It is great foundation on which to build my faith.

Hi Stuart,
Thank you fort this book Jesus Take The Wheel, Day 11 from this book is very close to my heart ‘coz of the story of David who chosen to be the next King of Israel, but while he is waiting he still contniue to serve King Saul and continue to serve others and wait for the perfect time of GOD.
I’ve been in this situation right now in my life. Since 2006, I was praying for God’s guidance and provision and HE showed me Habakuk 2:3, For the Vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
As I reading this Day 11 in chapter 2. God speak to my heart to wait and continue to served HIM. And I remember the night I shared a Devotional in Gene Espinosa Home group 4 weeks ago about Psalm 40, that Doing God’s will sometimes means waiting patiently. While I wait, I can love God, serve others and tell others about God.
I also remember when David’s father Jesse asked Him to deliver 10 cheeses to his brother in the battle field and He humble himself to follow his father’s request even though he knew that he is already anointed to be the next King of Israel.
Pray that God will continue to guide me and humble. And Let Jesus Take The Wheel Of My Life.
I’m looking forward in every chapter of this book and to learn more and more how JESUS will take care of the wheel of my life. Thank you Stuart for this book.
I Thanked GOD for using you to create this book and for sharing us your experienced with JESUS CHRIST.
In HIS Kingdom,
Ed

I have found “Jesus Take the Wheel” to be very useful in helping me to submit my life to the will of God. I particularly found the following elements helpful with ministry, guidance and fighting temptation:
Be Insignificant To Self To Be More Useful for God: “When you consider yourself unimportant, you get out of the way of the Holy Spirit; Jesus takes the wheel, and God’s light shines through you … Moses was a man who understood how unimportant he truly was and yet how important to God he came to be! … When God steps in, whether with Moses or with us, He takes our unimportance and allows us to be mighty instruments in His hand … Your importance in anything should be measured by how God is revealed to others through you …”
Let God and God’s Helpers Help You: “Victory came as God’s children worked together, depended on God for help and looked for God’s leadership.”
Focus on God in Face of Temptation: “Focusing on God is the only thing that will get us through trials without falling prey to temptation … When you are tempted to give in to the lust of the flesh, remember it will not bring satisfaction. Jesus said when He was tempted with the lust of the flesh that man should live by the Word of God — true sustenance for living. Do you look to the Word of God to gain strength in times when your flesh is weak? Instead of feeding yourself, feed others with the love of God.”
Great stuff. Very powerful. Wonderfully helpful. I thank and praise God that He used Stu to write this practical book.
Blessings,
B

THE stories help me to see how real you are,and how you go through different trials and then give it to Jesus. Great illustrations. The Daily action step at the end of the chapter helps me to focus. So much in this book is really helping me in my trials, I have been through many and I can relate. Thanks GHERI

Hi Stuart,
I love the book!
I have learned a great deal from your book and have grown a lot from it. I really feel that it has and is redefining me and my knowledge of my relationship with Jesus.
I look forward to reading it daily. Jeanne will probably want to kill me for this but you are going to have to write a daily devotional after both books are published!
Thank you to both you and Jeanne for sharing your experiences in making it easier for the rest of us to relate life experiences with reference to the bible. Also, your great examples of trusting in the Lord and strong faith!
I don’t know if it is because I am saved only a few years, although I have always looked to the lord, I still have the doubt that creeps up on me every once in a while. I look to what Pastor Lloyd said about – that is when the enemy comes at you the most (as a young believer) and your wonderful book which is breaking down that last bit of doubt and fear.
Again, thank you and God Bless to you and your family.

Hi. I am enjoying Jesus Take the Wheel so much. It has practical daily lessons that are easy to apply to my life. Leading up to this study I had such a desire to lay things down and not pick them back up, as I often do. Now it’s my daily reminder to let go! It’s encouraging to learn about the obedience of Moses at the times when he didn’t know what the outcome was going to be, but he trusted our God to bring forth His blessings as promised. I’ve been struggling with three prodigals for a few years and each year I hope and pray this would be the year that they surrender their lives to Jesus. This study has encouraged me to commit them to God completely and “Let Jesus Take The Wheel” of my life as well as theirs. After raising children in the ways of the Lord it is hurtful to see them walk the other way – to a point that it can be debilitating. But we are commanded not to worry about these things and trust in God. The Lord is using this tool to really minister to me in an awesome way. Helping me to surrender them and move forward in my walk with my Savior.

I am always the first to be very cautious whenever I hear the titles of books as being, “3 Steps to this…” or “5 Ways to better that…” I once heard a speaker at a conference quote the phrase, “If it’s something new, then it can’t be true!” He was speaking of the Word of God as being the ultimate authority on how to live our lives. Many people today are seeking to find ways, other than Jesus, to find purpose, meaning, joy, and contentment with the very lives that they now live. So when they hear the new happy-go-lucky retoric of christian authors today claiming they’ve found the key to living a successful, God-filled life, they naturally flock to them. You see, living the christian life is very difficult, contrary to common belief among people. It takes a lot of discipline, dying to self, and letting go of the reigns, or wheel, of your life. I remember in the book how one of Stuarts friends had said to him that “he took the easy way out by becoming a christian.” Well if the christian life we now live is easy, I can’t imagine what a hard and difficult one would be like.
Stuarts book is nothing new, but rather a refreshment course in 7 key principals that we may have forgotten about since we were saved. It simply and plainly highlights foundational truths of a Christ centered life. As christians, we may have become complacent, or stale, not really affecting others for the cause of Christ. This book reminds us that we need to get out of our own way, and let Jesus once again have control. By studying the lives of Jesus, Moses, David, and Stuart’s personally lived experiences, this book amazingly reaffirms how great our savior is, and at times, really convicts your heart to turn from the sin that you may have been living in, whether you knew it, or not.
I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to seek more of the wonderful blessings that a transformed life with God can bring!

I love Jesus Take the Wheel. There is no question that Satan doesn’t want me to complete the program because many things have taken place in my family since I’ve started the book that have required much attention and they just keep on happening. It makes me even more determined to continue. I have had to do a little catch up which upsets me but things are still going well. I think the book and workbook combo is a wonderful tool on its own to lead a person through a journey on their own to a closer walk with Jesus. But because life has so many distractions it’s helpful to do the journey as a pair or as a group so there is some accountability and some discussion on each chapter. It will be an excellent resource to use as a group Bible study or group project with a meeting every so often to discuss the questions and even the action step experiences.

I am really enjoying Jesus Take Tthe Wheel. The one chapter I especially got a lot from was Chap 33, talking about how waiting & praying to the Lord for direction on a God directed mission. I have started to pray for this too. I think I often try to perform my own missions without waitng on Him for direction.
One of the things I had told you when I met you during the filming was that I was learning from JTTW to not think so highly of myself. Here’s one way God used that filming to further instruct me. After the filming, I felt so bad about one of the things I said. The next day following the filming I was moping around, not able to shake the bad feeling. I had said something that when I thought about how I worded it, made me sound so selfish. Lately, I have been wanting to be more “others” focused, realizing that most of my life has been focused on myself. JTTW has helped me in this way concentrate on some ways to focus on others. But it has also helped me to be self reflective, and focas intenally on ways that I need to improve. I had told you during the filming that JTTW has helped me to pray for myself. But listening to me say that sounds so self absorbed. The day after filming, I felt so bad about what I said, thinking that on film I sounded so self centered. But after one or two days of moping, God got a hold of me & pointed out, didn’t you just say you wanted to not think so highly of yourself? And here you are wanting everyone to think you are perfect? Get over it. Immediately, I realized how foolish my thinking had been. Here I am trying to think more highly of myself right in the midst of saying I am learning this. God caused a peace to wash over me & thankfully, I have not moped over this anymore.
What I find so amazing is how patient God is with me! We serve a truly awesome God!
Thanks for your faithfulness in writing JTTW. I am slightly behind in my readings, but I am still looking forward to each chapter & what God has to teach me.

Hey Stu! I absolutely love the book. I will have to say that my two favorite chapters so far are the one’s about self importance and going through trials. These two really spoke to my heart and have changed my perspective when it comes to these two parts of life. Oh, and day 26, about compromising was really good too. We don’t realize how often we do compromise in our own walks with the Lord. We need to follow his instruction thoroughly, just as Moses did when it came to dealing with Pharaoh.

The book is excellent, and very comprehensive in many areas. I have prayerfully read and reviewed several chapters. On many occasions
I needed to confess to the Lord my shortcomings and worded out a plan with the Lord to resolve. The Lord is faithful (1John 1:9)

I am enjoying this book very much. It has a lot of Great examples for us to follow along with practical advice. It seems that just as I read a chapter it ALWAYS pierces my heart to remember our calling and see the standard that God has for us and shows us time and time again throughout scripture where he is so faithful to reward those who faithfully trust and wait on Him. I thank you for following the leading of the Holy Spirit and setting the time and resources aside that it took to put this book together. I know that this took a lot of time from your family to complete this work. You have also shown your weaknesses and growth process that helps us to remember we are not alone! We all battle this thing called the flesh. You show how we are to walk and what to expect and how to pick up once we have fallen or gotten off track.
In closing it seems that as I go through the book day by day God has been speaking directly to me; even today with King Hezekiah who even though he was in such a wicked society / generation even in his own family he kept his eyes on God and clung to nothing but HIM. God was faithful to show himself mighty to Hezekiah; He went to battle and slew 185,000 people. The only thing he wants is for us to be totally surrendered to Him. This Helps met to remember that I need to look to him in all areas of my life clinging to him and nothing else. The book has been a tremendous blessing.

Wouldn’t you know … the reading from last night spoke to me EXACTLY where I am in my situation. There is a paragraph you wrote saying something to the effect of: “Are you having financial difficulties? Conflicts with family? Health issues? Depression?” I don’t recall exactly what you said after this, but I know it was a great encouragement; exhortation to put my full dependence on the Lord, to put Him “in the driver’s seat”, to TRUST that He has the absolute BEST in mind for me. I know this is exactly what I needed to read, and I know it was no accident that the Lord allowed me to read it at this time. It’s helping me to keep my mind more focused on the Lord/ trying to trust Him.
I believe that the Lord is dealing with that deep void in my heart … I just don’t know how He’s doing it/ what exactly He’s doing. He’s been allowing me to feel that deep sadness that I usually cover up/ bury so well in so many activities/ busy-ness. I’m afraid that sadness will never go away … it’s been with me a long time. But, your book continues to point me to the only One who really can help it to go away, for which I am very grateful.
Reading about your personal experiences (financial problems early in your marriage because of the cost of school; children, mistakes/learning experiences at your job, training for triathlons, struggling with physical problems [pancreatitis I think it was?], ) encourages me so much, because it makes your exhortations about God so much more meaningful! You aren’t just some perfect person who skated through life, who’s writing a happy-go-lucky book about it. NO — you’re a real person, with real struggles, who loves the Lord and wants to share your experiences, strength, hope with us! It makes your writing powerful and effective for me … because you’re talking from the viewpoint of someone who has been there. It makes me happy to open your book so that I can read more!

Life is busy, but by each day letting Jesus Take the Wheel, it is not burdensome. Through the reading, some things I’ve noticed:
- I ponder (if that’s the right word) decisions and directions with more focus than in the past.
- I find myself looking and asking God to reveal more to me even in the small trials, and in the busyness of life, to be more aware, and recognize the helpers He brings to me.
- I find myself resting on that peace that surpasses all understanding.

Reading, Jesus Take the Wheel, has been a great source of strength and a reminder of God’s faithfulness to his people. As I ponder these simple, yet practical truths set forth in this book, I look forward each day to see what the Lord wants to teach me through them. The author brings to life these truths by sharing his own experiences with us. The Lord has been showing me how much I have been serving myself and “self” needs to be off the wheel of my life in order to let Jesus take over. This has been a dose of humility for me but great is the reward of obedience! I am so blessed that we serve a loving Father who cares for our every need and knows what is best for us.

Hi Stu,
Your book is AWESOME! Every chapter there’s a thrill and the story can relates in my situation. Like day 39 and 40 of the workbook. Day 39 tackles about having perseverance in facing trials in life. “Persevere by not quitting or giving up, BUT instead depend on GOD to lead you through trial, BY FAITH realizing that HE will carry you through them. And it reminds me Romans 5:3-5. Day 40, story of David, His job, his family, and a lot of things that happened in his life. Like what George said on David during the meeting, that David is like a piece of hardening clay needed to be shatter and put it back together again (remodeled again by GOD). I was blown away with these statement, and I pray and thank GOD that He need to break me like a clay and put it back together to remodel me again as a new clay that remodeled by the Potter. I’ve been in this situation Stu. While I’m still waiting for GOD to finish what He started, I enjoy loving HIM more and more, knowing HIM and desiring HIM everyday in my life. Prayer really helps me and it’s my daily habit now to pray not only once but every moment. And it is really a REWARDING to surrender my LIFE to JESUS CHRIST and Let JESUS Take The Wheel. And my participation, to be humble, obedient, cling to my Creator, don’t quit (even he road is tough) praising HIM, Honor and Glorify JESUS more.
This is a very HIGHLY recommended book. Very practical and simple! And you can feel the LOVE of JESUS in our lives!
In HIS Kingdom,

I love the book. Denise and I have been following day by day. I like the fact it can be used by people who are beginning their walk , and people who want to “Fine Tune” their walk.
You keep it interesting with your life stories and the stories in the bible.
I found a couple of chapters really hit a nerve in my house. It was an eye opener. and we are growing well.

Jesus Take The Wheel has helped me to react to things (big & small) in life in a much more even tone. Seeing trials as tools which God uses to mold and remake us, has really taken the bite out of them so to speak (and out of me). I find myself not sweating the small stuff. I think much of what I thought throughout a week was spiritual warfare was probably just me, battling my will against those around me. … and the spiritual warfare that occurs, I submit to prayer, giving it to the Lord. Suddenly I look back and see that it’s passed and feel like Wow, i’ve come out unscathed. These principles are wonderful and are easy to apply since this is the “new man” we’ve put on.
